Street Libraries and Doorstop Libraries
Street libraries or doorstop libraries provide a real opportunity to share amazing knowledge and ideas. The aim: to bring wonderful books to those very places where children and their families are living in extreme poverty, to set up genuine cultural events right in the heart of these housing estates deemed the poorest, these shantytowns, these areas which have been completely marginalised.Discussing, meeting, speaking out, and living together, to ensure rights for all
For the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty and the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, children, adults and members of the ATD Fourth World Movement met and conversed with political figures.
