ATD Fourth World began its activities in Honduras in 1991. We are based in Nueva Suyapa, a deprived neighbourhood in Tegucigalpa, the capital city.

The community in Nueva Suyapa receives the support of many young people who give their time and organise activities:

  • Street libraries take place once a week in Flores de Oriente and Quebrada in Nueva Suyapa, and in the La Bolsa neighbourhood on the banks of the Choluteca River.
  • The Festival of Knowledge marks the end of activities carried out throughout the year: it takes place from mid-November to the beginning of December.
